How to play

• Pick an edition. Columnist (easy) is a generous grid and the paper keeps your pencil marks for you. Publisher (medium) thins the givens and hands you the pencil. Editor (hard) is sparse, has no pencil, and tells you nothing.
• Fill the grid. Tap a square, then a number; tap the same number again to clear it. Undo steps back through everything. A hardware keyboard works too — arrows move, 1–9 write.
• Stuck? Ask the Copy Desk. That is the hint button. Check the grid, ask where the next move is, or reveal a square. Free, any time, and nothing there is scored against you.
• A new edition every day. Your clock and your progress are saved, so you can put the paper down and pick it up later.
