How to play

• Pick an edition. Columnist is a generous grid and the paper keeps your pencil marks for you. Publisher thins the givens and hands you the pencil. Editor is sparse, has no pencil, and tells you nothing.
• Fill the grid. Tap a square, then a number; tap the same number again to clear it. Undo steps back through everything. A hardware keyboard works too — arrows move, 1–9 write.
• Stuck? Ask the Copy Desk. Check the grid, ask where the next move is, or reveal a square. Free, any time, and nothing there is scored against you.
• A new edition every day. Your clock and your progress are saved, so you can put the paper down and pick it up later.
